BRIEF NOTE ON CHILDREN HOME, SC-II, HYDERABAD

Government of Andhra Pradesh sanctioned Children Home, SC-II Hyderabad, vide G.O.Ms.No.167, WD&CW Department dt:27.11.1992. The Home was started in March 1993 with strength of 60, with the objective of providing Care, Protection and Education to Children who are totally Orphan, partially orphans and children of disabled parents and Ex-Servicemen. The Children in the age group of 06-10 years and in special cases upto 12 years of age are admitted. Free education, boarding and lodging, clothing, medical aid, books are provided. In the Home there are 47 totally Orphan Children, Semi Orphan-8, Destituets-5 are accommodated in the subject children's Home.

The sanctioned strength at the Home are that I-Superintendent, 1- Matron, 1-Attender, 1-Sevika, 1-Cook and 1-Nightwatchman.

Out of 60 inmates, 30 students are studying in Government Schools and 30 students are being sent to reputed private schools, such as St.Alphonsa, Bhavani Public School with the financial aid of courteous donors. The donors came forward to sponsor children from 1st class to 10th class and paying School feeses and expenditure for Books. With the help of donors, the Home is able to provide better School Education including in Englilsh Medium. The donors have also undertaken and providing tuitions at Children's Home, For the remaining students at Home, the Nandi Foundation Hyderabad is kind enough to provide tuitions at Children's Home. Similarly special tuitions are provided for 10th class Children.

Indoor and Outdoor play facilities are provided the children are encouraged to participate in cultural programs. The children of this Home also participated in 15th August 2010 Programme organized by the State Government at Parade Grounds. Secunderabad. During Summer Vacation of 2010, the Children are provided Computer Training, Spoken English, Flower buke making, Fabric Painting, Pot painting, etc., organized by R.K.Educational Institutions, Hyderabad.

The Library facility is provided in the Home. The Children were taken for excursion once in a year. The Yoga and Meditation is regularly practiced in the Home. First Aid medical Kits are provided in the Home. There are regular Health Checkup being conducted by the ICDS Doctors.

During the Academic year 2009-2010, 5 children appeared for SSC Board Examinations, out of which 4 children passed.
